Newly arrived family of four seeks support at a community group. Whilst eager to assist, the leaders of the group have only limited resources. Learning from previous experiences with newcomers they do not want to spend time and money on unnecessary exercises: they consult with me. Together, we work out a schedule and divide the tasks. My assistance is limited to providing technical expertise and co-ordination. Thanks to the community members' dedication and informal approach, the family settles in Perth among new friends.

Local company brings in Overseas Expert for 6 months stay. Professional in their approach to hosting preparations, they contact me. I get in touch with Overseas Expert to learn about his preferences and hire the most appropriate removalist, arrange a suitable accommodation, find school for the children and a welcoming expatriate community for the wife. Assist her in opening a bank account, finding the best telecommunication carrier and managing insurance.

Ms Migrant receives her residency visa. She has an uncle in Perth but soon after arrival it becomes obvious that her uncle's outlook on life is different. Ms Migrant becomes frustrated. She telephones me with a specific dilemma and I am able to help finding a solution. It takes only two more calls and she gains confidence to lead a well informed, independent life.
